Guide

How to set a reminder
in Telegram.

Telegram has a simple built-in reminder in Saved Messages. For repeating reminders, appointments and voice, a reminder bot does more. Here are both, step by step.

  • Free, no card needed
  • No sign-up: just tap Start
  • English & Russian

Way 1The built-in reminder in Saved Messages

Telegram can send you a message at a chosen time. It works only in Saved Messages, your private chat with yourself.

  1. Open Saved Messages.
  2. Type what you want to be reminded about.
  3. On a phone, press and hold the Send button; on a computer, right-click it.
  4. Choose Set a reminder, pick the date and time, and confirm.

At that moment Telegram sends the message to Saved Messages with a notification. It is quick for a single reminder, but you pick every date and time by hand, and there is no list of upcoming reminders apart from the scheduled messages in that chat.

Way 2: a reminder bot

A bot such as Skedix reads what you write and sets the reminder itself. That helps when:

  • you want to write naturally: “tomorrow morning call the bank”, “Friday at 3 dentist”;
  • the reminder repeats: “every weekday at 8 drink water”;
  • it’s an appointment and you want a heads-up an hour before;
  • you’d rather send a voice message than type;
  • you want to ask “what do I have tomorrow?” or see everything in a calendar on the web.
